The publication includes drawings, photographs, limited edition prints, and books. art on paper is circulated all of over North America and Western Europe and also features coverage of relevant artists’ shows, awards, and work. The magazine began as a newsletter called The Print Collectors Newsletter which was first published in the late 1960s and began art on paper in the mid-90s. The magazine strives to be an intergral part of the current art world today. The magazine is available to all of those who appreciate works on paper and for those who make work it is a source of inspiration and possible notariety. On newstands the price of the magazine is $9.00 American, plus tax. In working for art on paper I would be happy doing just about anyting in helping in the publication process: copy, designing, and photographing for editorials. I would also be interested in covering artists’ exhibitions.

The Society for Photographic Education (SPE)

SPE or The Society for Photographic Education is a non-profit membership organization interested in providing a forum for the dicussion, criticism, practice, and education of the medium through publications, exhibtions, and conferences. The national headquarters is located in Cleveland, Ohio and the organization’s archives is located in Tuscon, Arizona at the Center for Creative Photography. The society began in the 1960s and now holds annual national conferences for students, teachers, and lecturers. To become a member of SPE, you must be interested in making a donation in the form of a yearly membership fee and this opportunity is available to any photographer or photography instructor or a professional related to the field. According to the SPE mission statement: “SPE… seeks to promote a wider understanding of photography in all of its forms and to foster the development of its practice, teaching, scholarship and critical analysis.” In being a part of the SPE team, I would be interested in all aspects of organizing and participating in the national confernces in order to promote the photographic arts.

Memphis Photo Supply

Memphis Photo Supply is a small business located in Memphis, Tennesse. It has been in operation since 1906. This small, (successful), company supplies the needs of amateur and professional photographers in the area including: equipment and supplies for digital and analog cameras, film and other essentials, as well as printing services. It is family owned and operated and always do their best to support student photographers.
Without businesses like this there would be much fewer people interested and involved with photography. In working for Memphis Photo Supply, I feel that I would learn much about camera repair and function, as well as other related topics surrounding the camera iteself.
